  11. Hi all.  For the technically knowledgeable, here's a problem:  I have an 
  12. amiga 1000 monitor hooked up to a 2000.  This is an RGB from the original 
  13. amigas as sold in the mid '80s by commodore USA.  I had no problems with 
  14. it for years, including several years hooked up to the 2000.  Recently 
  15. it has started to inexplicably render everything in amber instead of 
  16. colour.  Since this monitor doesn't have an amber mode, I just don't get it.

  18. Also, wiggling the RGB cable doesn't solve anything, at either the 
  19. machine or monitor end.  Likewise tightening the cables has no result.  
  20. BUT, here's a strange thing!  Pinching the RCA type video (composite) and 
  21. audio (mono) jacks together causes normal colour to return!!  Note the 
  22. connection from the amiga is to the RGB port, not the composite jack.

  24. Can anyone make any suggestion about how to fix this?  I don't even think 
  25. it would be possible to find someone to service the monitor where I'm 
  26. living (if at all), and I'm getting real tired of amber!
